Antigua and Barbuda Falcons have won their first Caribbean Premier League championship, beating Jamaica Kingsmen by eight wickets in the final at Kensington Oval in Barbados on September 20.
According to the CPL’s official match report, the Falcons chased down a target of 171 with 20 balls remaining, finishing on 173 for two.
Sufyan Moqim led the bowling effort with four wickets for 14 runs as Jamaica made 170 for nine. Maaz Sadaqat scored a century for the Kingsmen, but his innings was not enough to secure the trophy.
Amir Jangoo and Hasan Nawaz then combined in an unbeaten 89-run partnership to finish the chase. Nawaz struck the winning six, sealing the franchise’s first CPL title.
